Finally decided there was no reason not to replace it. So I purchased another before the existing one is completely unusable as I can't be without it with a long haired cat. This is so easy to use; no tape to unwind, no refills, just brush in the opposite direction and all the hair comes off the brush. If you have pets that shed, give it a try. I'd kept it for a good 25 years, and finally, the fabric pulled out from the edges. That one had an oblong swiveling head on a longer handle, which made it easy to reverse the direction of the hook-type fabric's nap, and it also had a reverse side that faced in the opposite direction, so reversal was unnecessary for smaller jobs. To clean the brush, I would simply wet my fingers and push the fuzz off it with, instead of against, the nap. All in all, a great design. The new one, on the other hand, though made with the same kind of fabric, does not swivel, the handle is about 1 1/2 inches shorter, the brush head is smaller too, and it doesn't feel quite as comfortable in the hand as the old one did.Please don't get me wrong, I'd much, much rather have the new one than to go without this cloth lint "brush," which is why I agreed to pay the exhorbitant shipping charges from Ace Hardware...
