This is not an iron in any way. This is a clothes shaver and it does an excellent job. This is actually my mom's which I borrowed. I am so impressed with this nifty gadget that I will be picking myself up one. I did only use it on pilled sweaters so I'm not sure how it does on lint or fuzz. I also used an ironing board to make the sweaters perfectly flat as well as laying the sweaters out on my bed (my bed spread is a bit lumpy). It did not damage any of my sweaters, even when laid out on my bed. I did have to slowly move the shaver over the sweater to remove the pilling as going too fast caused it to skip over some of the pilled balls.
